Cycling

We are really lucky to be located right by the Camel Trail Cycling Route. We even provide complimentary his and hers bikes for use during your stay...you can ride to Camel Valley Vineyard, Wadebridge and even Padstow along the trail...

The Camel Trail boasts 18 miles of cycleway (with the majority of this traffic free) set on the site of an old disused railway.

You have full use of 'his and hers' bikes for the duration of your stay allowing you to explore as much or the Camel Trail as you wish!

Poachers Pocket Cottage is located just 1/2 mile from Hellandbridge, where you can join the Camel Trail and head towards either Wenfordbridge and the Snails Pace Cafe, or towards Bodmin where you will find Camel Valley wine, Wadebridge with its pretty shops and restaurants and eventually Padstow - home of Rick Stein and the National Lobster Hatchery.

The Camel Trail is also part of the National Cycle Network following routes 32 and 3. The trail is level and there are plenty of stops for refreshments along the way.

Camel Trail focus points:

Woodland from Poley’s Bridge to Wadebridge - Pass through miles of wonderful woodland and cycle beneath the ancient oak, ash and beech trees.

Bodmin to Wadebridge - Stop at the Borough Arms for lunch or Camel Valley Vineyard for a spot of wine on the terrace.

Wadebridge to Padstow - Bird spotters paradise! Cycle right next to the estuary and take in the breathtaking views along the way.

Padstow - Picturesque fishing town. Lovely shops and galleries, boat trips around the estuary and home to Rick Steins famous restaurant and fish and chip shop!
