What to do if something isn’t quite right at the property?
We take great care in ensuring everything is to the highest standard possible, ready for your stay. If this isn’t the case please let us know as soon as possible and we will investigate the issue and take any action necessary to resolve the issue.
Do you have wifi?
Yes our property offers broadband, however, speed and service is variable due to our rural location and may not operate at the speed you are used to. Due to our location we cannot guarantee broadband will be available constantly during your stay.
What do you recommend we do during our stay?
We really are perfectly situated for exploring the whole of Cornwall. We have amazing walking and cycling routes on our doorstep and Bodmin Moor is just up the road offering miles upon miles of wilderness to explore. Nathan Outlaws restaurant is a must if you’re a fan of fine dining, and the local cider farm (Haywoods Cider Farm) is a short cycle ride away. Stately home Pencarrow House has beautiful grounds to wander around and a fabulous little café too. We are 8 just miles from the North Cornish coast with fabulous surfing beaches and coastal paths, such as Polzeath, Trebarwith Strand and Trevone. The Eden Project is located 30 minutes away by car and is an amazing attraction not to be missed!
Do you accept children?
We only accept babes in arms i.e. very young babies that cannot yet walk and need to be carried – children under 8 months old. Our cottage has too many hazards for babies and toddlers on the move.
Do you have room for a cot?
We have room for a cot in the master bedroom. We can provide a travel cot on request.
Can guests visit me at the property?
Yes of course, but overnight stays are not permitted.
Do you accept dogs?
Yes we love dogs! Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome at our cottage. Please use dog beds provided and if your dogs would like to sit on any furniture, please use the throws provided.
Do I need travel insurance?
We recommend that you strongly consider getting travel insurance before you stay. A good policy will cover cancellation of your booking due to reasons beyond your control. Some policies even cover adverse travel and road conditions. This is worth considering, as we cannot be held liable for reasons outside of our control that prevent you from accessing the property. We also recommend your policy covers you for personal liability claims incase of accidental damage
Can I request extras after I have booked?
Of course – please give us 48 hours notice before you are due to arrive. You can contact us here.
What is your minimum night stay requirement?
We require a minimum stay of 3 nights. From 2021 our 3 night stays will incur a £50 per night surcharge. Stays of 4 nights or more do not incur any extra charges. Stays of less than 3 nights may be possible depending on availability. Please contact us here for more info.
What are your check in policies?
Check in is from 4pm on day of arrival, check out is 10am on the day of departure. You can check yourselves in and out using our key safe.
Can you be flexible with arrival days?
Yes we are flexible with our check in days. We ask that you give us two days notice prior to your booking.
How do payments work?
We require 20% deposit from you when you book, with the remaining amount due 28 days before arrival. We will also require a £200 damage deposit from you before arrival. This is usually requested via Paypal and will be refunded to you within 7 days of departure (usually within 2 days) as long as no damage has been done to the property.
What if I need to cancel or change my dates?
Once payments have been made, they cannot be refunded. We do highly recommend taking out travel insurance to cover you for any such eventualities. During these unprecedented times, we may be able to move your reservation dates to another time. If we can fill your reservation, we will refund you the difference. Please note the booking deposit is not refundable. Our terms and conditions have full details.
Is there Parking?
Yes we have an off road parking space for one car. Parking is on your right hand side as you drive through the gates – space number 3.
