Camel Valley Vineyard
A visit to Poachers Pocket Cottage would not be complete without visiting this award winning vineyard on the slopes of the Camel Valley.
Founded in 1989 by ex RAF pilot Bob and his wife Annie Lindo, they planted their first 8,000 vines in 1989 and haven't looked back, winning countless awards over the years, including the 2005 Wine Challenge Gold Medal for Camel Valley 'Cornwall' sparkling wine.
We went on the Grand Tour and Tasting session and would highly recommend...
One of Camel Valley winemakers took us on a tour through the vineyard where we marvelled over the stunning slopes of vines, he guided us through the machinery, explained the wine making process throughout the year and the different types of wine produced. We ended the tour with a fabulous tasting session, sat on the sun terrace, marvelled at the countryside view and tasted 5 delicious wines including the most famous, Cornwall Brut.
Tours commence every Wednesday Evening at 5pm between April and October, with an additional tour running throughout August on Thursdays at 5pm. Booking in advance is essential. £18.00 per person.
You can visit the Vineyard throughout the day to buy wine by the glass, bottle or case. You can also sit on the terrace and soak up the sun...it's such an idyllic spot.
